Sanctuary Keepers

Our Policies

Sanctuary Keepers is committed to safeguarding, confidentiality, dignity, and ethical practice. The policies below outline how we work, the boundaries of our support, and our responsibilities under UK law.

Safeguarding Policy

Sanctuary Keepers is committed to safeguarding adults and children at risk. We recognise our responsibility to promote welfare, prevent harm, and act promptly on any safeguarding concerns.

All trustees, staff, volunteers, and partners are expected to act in a way that protects the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of those we support. Safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and responded to in line with statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures.

Where there is a risk of serious harm to an individual or others, Sanctuary Keepers may need to share information with appropriate authorities.

Confidentiality & Privacy

Sanctuary Keepers respects the privacy and confidentiality of all individuals who engage with us. We aim to create a safe space where people can speak openly without fear of judgement or pressure.

Information is only shared on a need-to-know basis and is handled with care and sensitivity. Confidentiality may be broken only where there is a legal or safeguarding obligation to do so.

Sanctuary Keepers complies with UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Complaints & Concerns

Sanctuary Keepers is committed to listening and learning. If someone is unhappy with any aspect of our work, we encourage them to raise concerns so that we can address them appropriately.

Complaints will be handled fairly, respectfully, and without prejudice. Raising a concern will not affect the support someone receives.

Complaints or concerns can be raised by contacting us at [email protected].
